The regional directors focus on the startup and growth of technology and other growth businesses that can become driver industries by providing:
Expertise, coaching and guidance with respect to technology assessment and commercialization, business planning, raising capital, and securing state and federal grants including Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs as well as other state and federal funding programs.
Strategic connections to resources, information, human and financial capital, advisers, and potential strategic partners.
Technology transfer assistance between the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) and its subsidiary, WiSYS Technology Foundation, and other technology transfer offices.
The WEN regional directors have business development and technology commercial experience with concentrated expertise in federal research and development funding, technology transfer, engineering and funding. Working individually or collaboratively, the WEN Regional Directors are a critical source of expertise to guide and advise Wisconsin's technology business comunity.
The WEN Regional Directors are member of the review team for Early Planning Grant (EPG) and Technology Assistance Grant (TAG) funding programs.
