Wisconsin Rapids business owner attends summit

The owner of a Wisconsin Rapids-based business recently participated the G20 Youth Entrepreneur Summit, hosted by French President Nicolas Sarkozy, to take part in discussions with world leaders and help them address economic issues, according to a news release.

 

Wisconsin Rapids Entrepreneur named to Empact 100 List

Zach Vruwink of ZAXX Technology Specialists based in Wisconsin Rapids, WI has been named to the Empact100 list of the country’s top young entrepreneurs and will be recognized at the White House in Washington, D.C. on November 17. He will be honored for his accomplishments and positive influence on the American economy. The Empact100 list has been created by Empact, in partnership with the Kauffman Foundation, Opportunity International, Global Entrepreneurship Week, and the Startup America Partnership

Virent's Jet Fuel Passes Test

A plant-based jet fuel developed by Virent Energy Systems has passed a round of U.S. Air Force testing. The fuel, produced by Virent in conjunction with its partner, Shell, was tested at the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
